Character Page Format[]

  • this page is extremely broken, and i have not the skill to fix it 67.163.150.193 01:03, October 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • Is there some way to better format the character pages? The majority of the show is post-flash info so it's difficult to organize all that information. Mark's page doesn't include much character development past the first episode while my contributions to the Simcoe page seem disorganized. My experience with wikis has been with more book fandoms (where there's more information given to you at once), but is there some way we can develop it chronologically or by subject matter? Also, I think we should include a personality section since a lot of the plot is character-driven. Geminizebra 16:43, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
    • Thanks for responding. Yeah, the character pages are, imo, only going to get worse with time. If this show really does run six (six?) seasons, then most of before the GBO will be trivial. The foregoing assumes they don't start doing a tremendous amount of character development at some point (e.g.: How did Mark become an alcoholic?) If you look at the Character Page Format page, you can tell it's basically the infobox, the three time periods, and the UAQs. None of that is engraved in stone. This is a cooperative process and it's new. I did a rework of Simon, which should not necessarily be thought of as the final answer, and parked it on User:Gaarmyvet/Sandbox 3. Take a look and edit it as much as you wish. Also, if you like to write titles, think about going into the transcripts and titling the scenes. Take a look at FlashForward Wiki:Ideas#Transcript Formatting first. Thanks again.--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 18:52, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Listing and Discussing Sandboxes?[]

So I thought it would be a good idea to list all the character sandboxes people are working on and brainstorm how to rework the character pages? Geminizebra 17:38, November 10, 2009 (UTC)

So here's mine: Mark Benford sandbox (thanks to Jim in Georgia -- I didn't realize you could do this until I saw yours!)

  • IMO, I think that the bio pages should contain mainly generalized info. If we get too specific, the page will be overrun with a lot of fluff. I think we should keep minute details in the episode overview and then just link to each episode. I didn't add it on there yet, but I think we should include a personality section. The show is essentially character driven. Even if the center is the mystery of the black out, the show is moved forward by the motivations of the characters over time. The only thing is that personality sections are tricky because they are subjective to each viewer. Geminizebra 17:38, November 10, 2009 (UTC)
