John Cho is the actor who portrays Demetri Noh.
Biography[]
Though born in Seoul, South Korea, John Cho was raised in Los Angeles, California. In 1990, Cho graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, California; he then attended Berkeley and gained a degree in English. Though he initially began teaching English at a nearby high school, he soon was drawn to acting, and began his career there.
He is married to actress Kerri Higuchi and has a son.
Career[]
Cho began modeling for Korean magazines and working in theatre. His first film role came with American Pie in 1999, in which he popularized the term "milf." He appeared in both sequels to this film. Cho appeared in Solaris in 2002 alongside George Clooney, and later appeared in the cult stoner comedy Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, in which he played Harold alongside Kal Penn's Kumar.
In 2005, Cho played a patient in an episode of the medical drama House, M.D., and appeared in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy the very next year. Over the following years, Cho appeared in guest roles in various sitcoms, such as Til Death and Ugly Betty. Cho later starred in the second film in the Harold and Kumar films, entitled Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. After appearing in ten episodes of Kitchen Confidential, Cho received his first role in a blockbuster film with the 2009 J.J. Abrams film Star Trek, in which he played Hikaru Sulu, a role originally played by George Takei.
